ABC Scapes, a well-established commercial landscape company based in Phoenix, is seeking a seasoned, professional Irrigation Technician to join our operations team. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands complex irrigation systems, and values accountability, safety, and clear communication.

Position OverviewThe Irrigation Technician is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, installation, and documentation of commercial and residential irrigation systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with Dispatch and Operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform commercial and residential irrigation maintenance and repairs

Troubleshoot and repair main lines, lateral lines, valves, sprinkler heads, wiring, and controllers

Install complete irrigation systems from start to finish

Conduct timely site inspections and identify repair or replacement needs

Prepare quotes for irrigation repairs, replacements, and new installations

Adjust, program, and manage standard and advanced controllers, including solar clocks

Upload before-and-after photos and update work orders in real time using an electronic tablet

Operate company vehicles safely and ensure equipment is properly secured during transport

Use required personal protective equipment at all times

Properly mark and secure open holes or hazards to protect residents and pedestrians

Leave all job sites clean, safe, and free of debris before departure

Consistently deliver workmanship that meets or exceeds ABC Scapes’ quality standards

Report to work reliably and on time

Required Qualifications2+ years of hands-on irrigation experience

Valid Arizona Driver License with clean MVR (company vehicle provided)

English speaking

Reliable transportation to and from work

Strong working knowledge of irrigation tools, materials, and systems

Ability to traverse uneven terrain and outdoor job sites

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and 35 lbs frequently

Physical endurance to perform duties during standard 8- to 10-hour workdays

Ability to work in extreme Arizona heat (up to 120°F)

Must pass employment requirements through E-Verify

Preferred / Advanced SkillsExperience with advanced irrigation controllers

Knowledge of local plant materials and water requirements

Knowledge of low-voltage landscape lighting

Familiarity with electronic troubleshooting equipment

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Complete hands-on understanding of irrigation systems

Backflow Certification (strongly preferred; willingness to obtain required)

ALCA Certified Irrigation Technician (ACIT) or willingness to become certified

On-Call RequirementMust be available every other weekend for on-call rotation

Must respond to after-hours emergency irrigation calls as scheduled
