About the Role

Mass Virtual is seeking a Contracts Specialist with strong government contracting expertise to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, understands the complexities of federal contracting, and can confidently navigate pricing negotiations, regulatory compliance, and contract administration.

You’ll play a critical role in supporting business operations by managing contract lifecycles, ensuring compliance with FAR and DFARS regulations, and helping guide strategic decisions through effective risk management and negotiation.

What You’ll Do

Contract Negotiation & Management
Lead the negotiation, drafting, and administration of government and commercial contracts, including Time & Materials, Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursement, and IDIQ agreements.

Compliance Oversight
Ensure contracts align with all applicable regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and internal policies such as CMBOK standards.

Contract Documentation
Review and approve contractual documents, reports, and supporting materials to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Risk Management
Identify potential contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies while advising leadership on obligations and exposures.

Contract Modifications & Amendments
Manage changes, amendments, and modifications in accordance with regulatory requirements and contractual terms.

Government Contracting Expertise
Serve as the primary internal resource for government contracting matters, ensuring federal compliance across projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with project managers, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to align contract strategy with business goals.

Reporting & Documentation
Maintain detailed records of negotiations, performance metrics, and compliance activities, while providing updates to leadership.

Training & Development
Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices while supporting internal teams with guidance on FAR, DFARS, and contract procedures.


Requirements:

What you need to succeed:

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, with a strong background in government contracting

· Demonstrated experience in handling different types of contracts (Time and Material, Firm Fixed Price, etc.)

· Comprehensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and CMBOK policies and procedures

· Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

· Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines effectively

· Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to assess contract risks and ensure compliance

· Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment

· Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Great to have:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Contract Management, or a related field

· Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CPCM, CCCM, CFCM or equivalent) is a plus

· Prior experience in a similar role, working with government agencies and contractors

Working Conditions:

· In-office 100% of the time

· The person in this position must be able to stay stationary for long periods of time

· Some travel may be required for this role

· Some transportation of equipment may be required – up to 50 pounds
