Position Summary: The person in Intake Specialist position is primarily responsible for navigating and receiving incoming clients and their needs, including registering clients in CareLogic, performing intake interview, inventory of client items, connecting them with appropriate mental health and/or Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Register clients in EHR.
  • Assess client needs
  • Perform Intake Interviews
  • Maintain and adhere to confidentiality guidelines.
  • Screen clients with mental health and addiction related screening tools prior to participation in integrated evaluations.
  • Attention to detail with proficient planning and organizational skills, prioritize and successfully complete job demands.
  • Assist clients in accessing and completing inpatient applications.
  • Attend meetings, and training which may require additional hours.
  • Be punctual and communicative with supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with minimal supervision, as well as ability to clearly follow supervisor and/or superior's instructions.
  • Support staffing needs in the houses as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Competence in utilizing data programs, including Excel, EHR and Word is desired
  • Technical writing skills are desired.
  • Strong organizational skills are a must.
  • Attention to detail are a must.
  • Maintain outstanding customer service to clients.
  • Ability to interact with clients, understand cultural differences and apply skill in working with people of varied social, ethnic and economic backgrounds.
  • Awareness of Trauma Informed Care and ability to interact with colleagues and community members in a professional manner.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to stress and ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Ability to problem solve and utilize conflict resolution skills for effective outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate of Art of Science degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Experience:


  • In-person customer service or healthcare

Licenses/Certificates/Registration:

  • Driver’s license and insurance

    1. This position requires standing, walking, and bending for long periods.
    2. This position may require exerting up to 40 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.
