  • Hourly Equivalent: Approximately $33.65/hour (based on a 40-hour workweek)

Position Summary:

Happier People Management is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team in preparation for the opening of our new flagship property, 25 Stewart. During the pre-opening phase, this role will support and receive training at our Manhattan properties (WSA) and Brooklyn properties (SAA), with full-time placement at 25 Stewart upon launch.

The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure a clean, well-maintained, and comfortable environment for all guests, clients, and staff. This individual will be responsible for assigning tasks, supervising staff, inspecting guest rooms and public spaces, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants and porters.
  • Assign tasks and prepare daily work schedules and reports.
  • Inspect guest rooms, event spaces, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to quality standards.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department for resolution.
  • Monitor and maintain housekeeping equipment to ensure safe and proper usage.
  • Train new housekeeping team members and support ongoing development for staff.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of linen, cleaning supplies, and equipment; coordinate restocking as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including Engineering, Front Office, and Events, to support smooth operations across the property.
  • Provide hands-on support during peak periods or special events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a housekeeping or supervisory role, preferably in a hotel, resort, or luxury residential setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a team effectively while working independently when needed.
  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and sanitation standards.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as required.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, salaried role requiring flexibility to support multiple sites during the pre-opening phase. Once 25 Stewart is fully operational, the role will be permanently based at that location.
