About the Role:
The Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll and vendor payments. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and company policies while managing sensitive financial data with confidentiality and integrity. The specialist will collaborate closely with HR, finance, and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and improve payment processes. Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounts payable functions.
- Proficiency with payroll software and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, ADP, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and accounts payable procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) or accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA).
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing and vendor management.
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Process and verify employee payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Manage accounts payable functions by reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices and expense reports in a timely manner.
- Reconcile payroll and accounts payable transactions, resolve discrepancies, and respond to inquiries from employees and vendors.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, prepare reports for management, and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to update payroll information, implement process improvements, and ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.
