About This Position

Position Summary:

The Physician at Auburn Memorial Medical Services provides high-quality, patient-focused care in an outpatient setting. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions, promoting preventive health, and working collaboratively with a healthcare team to support the well-being of the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of gastrointestinal (GI), liver, and pancreatic disorders.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
  • Perform therapeutic endoscopy (ERCP/EUS preferred but not required, depending on practice needs).
  • Interpret diagnostic tests including imaging, lab studies, and pathology results.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients on GI health.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians, surgeons, and care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as assigned.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility) in the state of New York.
  • Strong diagnostic, procedural, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Interest in hepatology, IBD, motility, or nutrition.
  • Experience in outpatient GI practice.
  • Multilingual ability is a plus.
