Position Summary

Zachry Construction is seeking an Equipment Foreman to oversee and manage the onsite operations of Zachry's equipment fleet in (City, State). The Equipment Foreman is responsible for ensuring all equipment is maintained in safe, reliable working condition while managing costs, training personnel, and supporting job site operations. This individual must be ethical in all business practices, maintain strong vendor and employee relationships, and be available to work nights and weekends as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing company safety policies and conducting regular safety meetings.
  • Maintain all equipment in proper working condition while adhering to safety, quality, and cost standards.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair activities to ensure they are completed efficiently and correctly.
  • Manage outside vendors, service providers, and suppliers to ensure value, reliability, and accountability.
  • Use sound judgment when purchasing parts and services, prioritizing preferred vendors and national accounts when possible.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate maintenance backlogs, ensuring descriptions, timelines, and estimates reflect current equipment conditions.
  • Oversee oil analysis and lubrication programs and take corrective action as needed.
  • Plan and schedule equipment use to maximize efficiency, minimize rentals, and eliminate unnecessary freight or emergency purchases.
  • Train and mentor mechanics, operators, and support staff in safe and effective maintenance and operational procedures.
  • Ensure all maintenance records, fuel logs, and inspections are documented accurately within the SAP Equipment Database.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork across the equipment and field operations teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Equipment Superintendent.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in heavy equipment maintenance or related operations.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and maintenance management software; SAP experience preferred.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Resourceful, ethical, and committed to maintaining high operational standards.
  • Willingness to relocate and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
