About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced and highly motivated Radiation Therapists to support advanced oncology treatment services in Utah, USA. This role is ideal for professionals with strong clinical expertise, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art radiation therapy technology, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
As a Radiation Therapist, you will work closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff to administer precise radiation treatments while ensuring patient safety, treatment accuracy, and adherence to established clinical protocols. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge treatment systems and advanced radiation therapy techniques in a collaborative oncology environment.
What You'll Do- Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments according to physician-approved treatment plans.
- Review and interpret treatment plans to ensure accurate patient setup and treatment delivery.
- Perform verification checks and quality assurance procedures to confirm treatment accuracy and dose calculations.
- Operate advanced radiation therapy equipment, including image-guided and surface-guided systems.
- Utilize imaging technologies such as MV ports, KV 2D matching, CBCT, extended CBCT, and KV beam's eye view imaging to verify treatment positioning.
- Deliver specialized treatments including Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT).
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Assess patient conditions and provide age-appropriate care based on individual treatment needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology teams to support treatment planning and patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate treatment records, documentation, and procedure charges.
- Educate and support patients throughout the course of their radiation therapy treatment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing clinical competency development.
- Active and unrestricted license as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Utah.
- Current ARRT Credential in Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Radiation Therapy experience in a clinical oncology setting.
- Demonstrated experience administering radiation treatments using advanced treatment delivery systems.
- Proven experience working within multidisciplinary cancer care teams.
Candidates must have prior hands-on experience with:
- ARIA Oncology Information System.
- Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator platform.
- Surface Guidance Systems.
- Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) technologies, including:
- MV Port Imaging
- KV 2D Match Imaging
- Cone Beam CT (CBCT)
- Extended CBCT
- KV Beam's Eye View Imaging
- Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) treatments.
- Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) treatments.
- Strong interpersonal, patient care, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform treatment verification and quality assurance procedures with a high degree of accuracy.
- Knowledge of radiation therapy principles, treatment planning concepts, and safety standards.
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide age-appropriate care across diverse patient populations.
- Understanding of human growth and development principles and their application to patient care.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to treatment precision and patient safety.
- Ability to follow established departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and treatment checklists.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced oncology environment while maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and treatment quality.
