Compensation
$33.00 – $38.00 per hour
Compensation is based on experience and overall qualifications.
What You'll Do
As a Surgical Scrub Technologist, your skill, precision, and attention to detail will help make every procedure a success. In this vital role, you'll prepare and manage the instruments, supplies, and equipment needed during surgery while anticipating the surgeon's needs and maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique.
Requirements:Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to surgeon preference cards.
- Perform surgical scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and sterile field setup for a variety of procedures.
- Maintain a safe, sterile environment throughout the surgical process.
- Pass instruments and supplies efficiently while anticipating the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.
- Participate in surgical counts and the Time Out process to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with patient draping, specimen handling, and proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Collaborate closely with the RN Circulator and other members of the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional patient care.
- Clean, prepare, and manage instruments for processing following each procedure.
- Support quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety initiatives while maintaining all required certifications and continuing education.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist certification program.
- Current certification and compliance with the educational requirements of Pennsylvania Act 80 of 2020 (Certification of Central Service Technicians & Surgical Technologists Act).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to read and understand medical terminology and procedural instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency, including electronic health record documentation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential strongly preferred.
- One year or more of surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital operating room setting.
- Experience working in a collaborative, patient-centered surgical environment.
- A demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional growth.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-Time | Non-Exempt
- Monday–Thursday
- 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Schedule may vary based on surgical case load and operational needs
