Overview
The Rentals Supervisor is responsible for the end-to-end performance of the rentals
department, ensuring operational excellence through meticulous administrative
oversight, safety leadership, and team development. This role balances hands-on field
auditing with strategic financial management to maximize equipment utilization and
departmental efficiency. The ideal candidate is a high-integrity leader who drives a
culture of urgency, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Primary Responsibilities
Safety & Maintenance oversight: Responsible for rental safety through field audits and JSA’s,
while coordinating fleet readiness and preventative maintenance with the shop team.
Purchase Order Management: Manage the full lifecycle of Purchase Orders ensuring daily
finalization of Service Core ticketing and delivering accurate flash reporting by 9:00am.
Operational Optimization: Driving departmental profitability by reducing non-billable work,
optimizing dispatch routes, and leading the recruitment and development of the rentals team.
Essentially, this role bridges the gap between field execution and financial reporting to ensure a
safe, efficient, and high-growth rental operation.
Qualifications
Operations Leadership: Minimum 2+ years of management experience in equipment
rentals, logistics, or field operations.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of heavy equipment, trailers, and vehicle fleet
maintenance.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in business or a related
field is a plus.
Essential Skills
Leadership: Ability to lead with urgency, integrity, and a problem-solving mindset.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled In-Service Core, Time tracking systems, and troubleshooting
Starlink or tablet issues.
Hands-on Troubleshooting: Experience in matching equipment to job requirements and solving
field operational issues.
Communications: Professional stakeholder management and clear interdepartmental
coordination.
Working Conditions
Environmental Exposure: Work is split between a professional office setting and outdoor
field environments. You will be exposed to variable weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and
industrial noise levels during site visits and audits.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to traverse uneven terrain at job sites, climb in and out
of vehicles, and occasionally lift or move equipment up to 50 lbs. during troubleshooting or
inspections.
Travel Demands: Regular travel to customer sites and company locations is required. You
must maintain a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles and oversee fleet movement.
Schedule & Availability: This is a high-responsibility role that may require work outside of
standard business hours to resolve emergency operational issues or meet urgent customer
demands.
High-Pace Atmosphere: The role involves managing high-pressure situations, such as
escalating missing POs or resolving logistics bottlenecks, requiring mental resilience and quick decision-making.
