Job Description

Strategic Client Partner, AI & Technology

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategic Client Partner, AI & Technology based in Australia.

This is a senior commercial opportunity focused on building enterprise relationships and driving growth across the Australian technology market.
You’ll develop and close complex opportunities involving AI, software, data, cloud, integrations, security, and technology services.
The role combines strong commercial ownership with technical credibility gained through prior implementation experience.
You’ll engage directly with senior business and technology leaders, often in person, and translate sophisticated technology into clear business value.
You’ll own opportunities from initial relationship-building through paid discovery, handoff, implementation expansion, and renewal.
You’ll work alongside experienced technical and delivery teams while remaining accountable for the commercial relationship and revenue outcomes.
The position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to help shape a growing technical sales motion across Australia.

Accountabilities
  • Develop enterprise opportunities through networking, referrals, strategic partners, industry events, and trusted relationships across the Australian market.
  • Build and deepen relationships with senior business leaders, technology executives, and strategic stakeholders through consistent, high-quality engagement, with frequent in-person customer interaction.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities from qualified interest through the close of paid discovery engagements.
  • Explain AI, software, data, cloud infrastructure, integrations, security, and delivery approaches clearly to nontechnical decision-makers while engaging credibly with CTOs, architects, security teams, and engineers.
  • Use prior implementation experience to address high-level technical questions and build confidence without making commitments around unvalidated architecture, scope, effort, or delivery outcomes.
  • Bring technical and delivery specialists into the sales process when deeper validation is required and provide them with a clear, context-rich handoff.
  • Maintain commercial ownership throughout active engagements, identifying opportunities to close implementation, expansion, and renewal work.
  • Manage multiple opportunities and client relationships simultaneously while maintaining accurate pipeline information, forecasts, follow-through, and commercial discipline.
  • Build a trusted, consultative sales process that clearly distinguishes established requirements from areas requiring further discovery and technical validation.
  • Act as a senior representative of the technology and delivery organization in customer conversations, protecting trust and ensuring expectations remain realistic throughout the sales cycle.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated success advancing and closing complex enterprise technology sales, with direct accountability for revenue, quota, or commercial outcomes.
  • Meaningful prior hands-on experience in software engineering, technical consulting, solution architecture, implementation, technical founding, or another closely related technical discipline.
  • Ability to make sophisticated AI and software concepts accessible to nontechnical buyers while holding credible discussions with CTOs, architects, engineers, and security leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal presence with the ability to build trusted relationships in person, network effectively, present persuasively, negotiate, and confidently ask for the business.
  • Experience with consultative selling and the ability to sell paid discovery without prematurely positioning an unvalidated solution as fully scoped.
  • Proven ability to navigate lengthy, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles involving business leadership, technology, security, procurement, operators, and executives.
  • Strong judgment around when to provide an answer based on experience, when to involve technical specialists, and how to avoid overpromising.
  • Broad understanding of modern software, AI systems, data, cloud infrastructure, integrations, security, and technology delivery risks; deep hands-on expertise in every area is not required.
  • Strong organizational and pipeline-management skills, with the ability to manage concurrent opportunities, client relationships, forecasts, and follow-ups.
  • Ability to remain engaged after the initial handoff to protect relationships, identify expansion opportunities, and support renewals without taking ownership away from delivery teams.
  • High integrity and clear communication, with the ability to distinguish between what is known, what is plausible, and what still requires discovery or technical validation.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as energy, infrastructure, government, healthcare, or finance is an advantage.
  • An established network among Australian enterprise executives, technology leaders, strategic partners, or relevant industry communities is highly desirable.
Benefits:
  • High-impact work at the intersection of AI, technology, and critical infrastructure regulation.
  • Significant ownership of enterprise relationships, revenue generation, and commercial growth across Australia.
  • Frequent interaction with senior business and technology leaders, with customer engagement primarily conducted in person.
  • Support from experienced technical discovery, solution, and implementation teams.
  • Senior individual-contributor position with the opportunity to influence and shape the technical sales strategy.
  • Competitive base compensation with commission linked to closed business.
  • Compensation designed around market conditions, location, relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
  • Localized compensation structures for candidates outside the U.S., taking regional cost of living and market conditions into account.
  • A culture built around character, competency, togetherness, impact, and commitment.
  • Equal-opportunity environment focused on fair consideration of qualified candidates.
