Sr. Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer based in United States.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on designing, building, and maintaining reliable software within a defined technical domain.
You will contribute to the development and operation of data processing pipelines that support intelligent, data-driven healthcare solutions.
The position combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, emphasizing scalable architecture, maintainable code, and dependable production systems.
You will work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate requirements into high-quality software and services.
The role also provides opportunities to influence engineering practices, strengthen system reliability, and guide less experienced developers.
Success requires strong technical judgment, ownership, and the ability to balance delivery speed with long-term performance, security, and maintainability.
You will join a collaborative engineering environment where practical innovation, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution are highly valued.

Accountabilities
  • Design and implement features and services using established architectural patterns, with a particular focus on data processing pipelines and related platform capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines that ingest information from multiple sources and transform it into meaningful formats for application databases, data warehouses, and other destinations.
  • Write clean, high-quality, maintainable code while taking ownership of systems and services within the assigned technical domain.
  • Contribute to system reliability, performance, security, and operational stability through disciplined engineering practices.
  • Participate in technical and architectural discussions, providing sound recommendations and helping shape implementation decisions within the assigned scope.
  • Conduct thoughtful code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and provide practical mentorship to less experienced engineers.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver agreed product outcomes reliably and within expected timelines.
  • Support modernization and continuous quality improvements by identifying opportunities to improve development practices, system consistency, and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing scalable, distributed systems and cloud-based architectures.
  • Strong experience with data processing, data warehousing, related tools, and modern data engineering techniques.
  • Professional experience with Python, AWS Lambda, and Java.
  • Experience contributing to complex technical initiatives from initial concept through deployment, with clear ownership and strong follow-through.
  • Ability to make sound technical decisions while balancing delivery speed, maintainability, performance, security, and reliability.
  • Experience integrating AI-powered development tools, such as Claude Code, into everyday engineering workflows to improve productivity and development velocity.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and align teams without relying on formal authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, establish clear engineering standards, and improve code quality through practical guidance and coaching.
  • A proactive, action-oriented mindset combined with a high standard for software reliability, security, and long-term maintainability.

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $140,000–$170,000, with compensation varying based on geographic market, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance benefits.
  • 401(k) matching program.
  • Generous paid time off plan.
  • Fully remote work opportunity within the United States.
  • Opportunity to contribute to modern data processing and cloud-based software initiatives in a collaborative engineering environment.
  • Equal opportunity workplace committed to fair employment practices and compliance with applicable employment laws.
