Clinical Electronic Health Records Informatics Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical Electronic Health Records Informatics Specialist based in the United States.

As a Clinical EHR Informatics Specialist, you will support critical healthcare operations and help optimize electronic health record performance in complex clinical environments.
You will work at the intersection of clinical care, healthcare informatics, and information technology, helping teams translate clinical needs into effective digital workflows.
The role focuses on workflow optimization, clinical decision support, data analysis, system performance, and post-go-live operational support.
You will contribute to enterprise-wide EHR initiatives while helping healthcare professionals adopt and effectively use clinical technology.
Your expertise will also support patient safety through risk identification, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders, provide education and readiness support, and help sustain high-quality clinical operations.

Accountabilities
  • Characterize, assess, redesign, and refine clinical and operational processes while supporting the development and continuous improvement of clinical decision support systems.
  • Lead or contribute to the procurement, customization, implementation, management, evaluation, and optimization of clinical information systems, including EHRs, clinical applications, ancillary order entry and results reporting, charting, medication management, and care-plan workflows.
  • Assess the information and knowledge needs of healthcare professionals and patients and translate those needs into practical technology and workflow improvements.
  • Conduct workflow mapping, assessment, redesign, and implementation support for clinical and operational processes affected by enterprise EHR deployments.
  • Evaluate and refine clinical decision support content, medical terminology updates, knowledge artifacts, and related clinical content to improve system performance and clinical usability.
  • Source, manipulate, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate program effectiveness, monitor operational performance, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Identify data anomalies, support complex reporting requirements, and provide advanced analytics for post-go-live operations and clinical research initiatives.
  • Perform risk identification and patient safety impact assessments, recommend mitigation strategies, and track issues through resolution in accordance with applicable healthcare standards and service-level requirements.
  • Develop and deliver supplemental educational materials, readiness assessments, super-user support, and peer enablement activities to accelerate adoption and strengthen clinical competency.
  • Serve as a key bridge between clinical teams and technology stakeholders, guiding caregivers across the full lifecycle of clinical technology initiatives.
  • Act as a subject-matter resource and role model for the effective integration and application of health information technology across diverse healthcare environments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, with a BA or BS required.
  • At least 5 years of related professional experience, preferably in clinical informatics, healthcare informatics, or a clinical environment involving health information technology.
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle Health platforms and electronic health record systems, with direct experience supporting enterprise-scale EHR deployments.
  • Familiarity with Veterans Health Administration workflows and complex healthcare delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in requirements elicitation, workflow optimization, clinical decision support refinement, and clinical information system improvement.
  • Strong understanding of public health data structures, syndromic health monitoring, medical surveillance workflows, and standardized medical terminology implementation.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to interpret, manipulate, and present complex data to assess operational effectiveness and support business recommendations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to connect clinical requirements with technical solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and adapt to changing priorities in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10–25%, or up to 25% of the year, as required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance. No prior clearance is required, and U.S. citizenship is not required for this role.
