ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Outbound Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our fulfillment and shipping functions, including picking, packing, kitting, and outbound distribution.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the operation runs safely, efficiently, and consistently while meeting customer service expectations and key performance targets. The Outbound Operations Manager will oversee supervisors, leads, and operational staff; manage staffing and labor needs; monitor performance; and identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, quality, and cost.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who understands fulfillment operations from the floor up and is comfortable balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term process improvement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Lead daily fulfillment, kitting, and shipping operations to ensure customer orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
- Develop and communicate daily operating plans, priorities, staffing requirements, and performance expectations to supervisors and team leads.
- Monitor operational performance across safety, quality, productivity, service, and cost, taking action when performance falls below expectations.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and allocation of resources based on workload and operational needs.
- Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, leads, and operational support team members.
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback, training, and development to strengthen team performance.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of fulfillment center processes and step into operational needs when necessary to keep work moving.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and recurring operational challenges and implement solutions that improve workflow and scalability.
- Drive continuous improvement across fulfillment and outbound processes.
- Manage labor efficiency and coordinate temporary staffing resources as needed.
- Ensure fulfillment and shipping activities meet established service levels and customer requirements.
- Promote and reinforce health and safety standards throughout the operation.
- Communicate operational performance, risks, staffing needs, and critical issues to senior leadership.
- Partner with leadership and other departments to resolve issues that could impact production, customer deliverables, or overall facility performance.
- Support budget management and maintain appropriate focus on operational costs and resource utilization.
- Develop the capabilities of the leadership team and help build a strong pipeline of future operational leaders.
We’re looking for someone who combines strong floor leadership with operational discipline. You should be comfortable managing a fast-moving environment, holding teams accountable to measurable goals, and jumping into problems to understand their root cause rather than simply reacting to them.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in fulfillment, warehouse, distribution, shipping, or related operations.
- Experience leading and developing supervisors, leads, and/or frontline employees.
- Strong understanding of operational KPIs and the ability to use performance data to make decisions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Ability to evaluate staffing and labor needs against operational volume.
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly set performance expectations and operational priorities.
- Sound business judgment and an understanding of how operational decisions affect service, cost, and profitability.
- Ability to build accountability while maintaining an engaged and productive team.
- Computer and technical skills which include but is not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and inventory management system and shipping software.
- Associate degree or equivalent education preferred. Relevant fulfillment, warehouse, distribution, or operations experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

- Ability to lift and move products up to 50 pounds regularly

- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures dn noise levels
