Job Description

Technical Product Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Product Manager based in Canada.

This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, industrial operations, and product leadership, focusing on building advanced automation and integration solutions for heavy industry environments. You will play a key role in translating complex operational needs from the oil and gas sector into scalable, reliable software products that improve safety, efficiency, and performance in control room operations. Working closely with engineering, deployment, and customer stakeholders, you will drive end-to-end product delivery while ensuring alignment between technical execution and real-world industrial requirements. This is a highly cross-functional role where you will manage priorities across customers and internal teams, balancing delivery speed with safety and reliability standards. You will also act as a key liaison between external industrial partners and internal product and engineering teams. The environment is fast-paced, technical, and mission-driven, with a strong focus on real operational impact.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for leading product delivery, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of complex technical initiatives within industrial environments. Your work will directly influence product reliability, customer satisfaction, and the scalability of automation solutions.

  • Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews to ensure continuous delivery improvement
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple technical projects, including planning, milestone definition, and timeline coordination with customers
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational dependencies to ensure smooth execution
  • Act as the primary customer-facing product representative, managing expectations and providing transparent progress updates
  • Coordinate across engineering, deployment, support, sales, and product teams to ensure alignment on requirements and delivery goals
  • Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of safety, reliability, and performance required for industrial systems
  • Build strong relationships with external technical stakeholders, including engineers and operational leaders at customer sites
  • Drive internal process improvements, including tooling, automation, documentation, and delivery optimization
Requirements:

You bring strong technical product or program management experience, ideally in complex, engineering-heavy environments where software meets industrial systems. You are comfortable engaging with engineers, customers, and executives, and you can translate technical complexity into clear execution plans.

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, product management, or technical program/project management roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, or related field), or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to discuss architecture, system design, and technical trade-offs with engineering teams
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with tight coordination requirements
  • Strong Agile delivery experience, including sprint planning and cross-functional team leadership
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in customer-facing environments
  • Ability to manage dependencies, unblock teams, and maintain delivery velocity in complex systems
  • Nice to have: domain knowledge in oil & gas, industrial automation, hydraulics, fluid dynamics, or control systems
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package including equity participation
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
  • Remote-first work environment across Canada
  • Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance
  • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities
  • Collaborative, growth-oriented and innovation-driven culture
  • Inclusive and diverse work environment
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact industrial automation technology
