Job Description

Sr. Recruiting Manager, Engineering & Data

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Recruiting Manager, Engineering & Data based in Canada.

This is a senior, high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping and executing technical hiring strategy across Engineering and Data organizations. You will operate as both a hands-on recruiter and people manager, owning critical requisitions while directly leading and developing a Senior Recruiter. The role sits at the intersection of talent strategy, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence in recruiting. You will partner closely with engineering and data leadership to define hiring priorities, strengthen pipelines, and improve overall hiring quality. This is a highly strategic yet execution-oriented position in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment. You will also play a key role in evolving AI-enabled recruiting practices, helping embed modern tooling into sourcing, evaluation, and hiring workflows. The work directly influences how the organization scales its technical teams and maintains a high bar for talent.

Accountabilities:
  • Own end-to-end recruiting for Engineering and Data roles, managing the full lifecycle from intake through offer closure across multiple seniority levels.
  • Act as a player-coach by directly managing and developing a Senior Recruiter while maintaining personal requisition ownership.
  • Build and execute long-term hiring strategies, including proactive pipeline development for senior and hard-to-fill technical roles.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Data leadership to align on hiring needs, influence decisions, and ensure hiring process quality and consistency.
  • Use recruiting analytics, funnel metrics, and hiring outcomes to identify bottlenecks, diagnose issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Lead offer strategy and negotiation processes, advising stakeholders on market trends and competitive compensation positioning.
  • Contribute to the adoption of AI-driven recruiting tools and methodologies to improve sourcing, screening, and evaluation efficiency.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with significant focus on Engineering and/or Data hiring.
  • 2+ years of experience managing recruiters, including coaching, performance management, and workload prioritization.
  • Proven success partnering with senior technical leaders and influencing hiring strategy through data and market insights.
  • Strong expertise in structured interviewing, hiring frameworks, and end-to-end recruiting process design.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations and close senior technical talent in competitive markets.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using recruiting metrics to drive measurable improvements.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools within recruiting workflows, with a clear understanding of where they create leverage.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive alignment across technical and non-technical teams.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range aligned to Canadian and North American tech markets, with variation based on location and experience.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Equity participation as part of the overall compensation package.
  • Flexible work arrangements supporting remote-first or hybrid collaboration models.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to individual and company outcomes.
  • Strong emphasis on work-life balance, including flexible vacation policies.
  • Support for professional development, learning, and skill advancement.
  • Inclusive, collaborative environment with a strong focus on accessibility and equal opportunity hiring.
