Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems

Assists Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean conditionAssists in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant’s uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelinesComplete PMs. Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment and document the work done without direct supervisionMonitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order. Work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as neededMonitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operationAssist outside contractors with repairing and installing machineryAble to apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facilityAlways complies with company policies and proceduresMaintains a neat and clean working area throughout the dayOperate forklift to unload and load trucks.Other duties as assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs.


Qualifications/Requirements

    Minimum 3 years of experience is requiredPunctuality and reliability is a must.Honesty and exceptional work ethic.Ability to solve problems independently.High School diploma/GED equivalent required.Must be 18 years of age or older.


Physical Demands

    Continual standing and walking during shift.Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during shift.Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.


Schedule

  • Hours are 5pm to around 1am based on equipment issues etc. Monday - Saturday for 40 hours of work. One day off between Monday through Saturday. Sunday is an off day as well.
