Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor (Manufacturing)

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina

Description: HTI is assisting a global paper packaging manufacturer with their search for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join the team at their startup facility in Spartanburg, SC!
  • Salary range: $85,000 - $100,000 / year, depending on experience and education
  • Core work hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
  • Location: Spartanburg, SC
  • This is a direct hire, full-time role

Summary:
This role will manage 3 Maintenance Technicians (one on each shift) and the plant Electrician, with overall responsibility for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of the plant’s production machinery and other plant equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor will plan and schedule all maintenance team activities, coordinate with production and warehouse leaders, and manage the inventory and tracking of all parts and tools. We are looking for a proactive Maintenance leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, values safety, and thrives in a team-oriented culture.

Requirements:
  • Must have a Safety First mindset
  • Must have 3+ years as of recent experience in a Maintenance Team Lead or Supervisor role within the manufacturing industry, with at least 7+ years of total manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Must have a technical degree and/or certifications in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Engineering, or a similar area of study
  • Must have recent experience with planning and scheduling maintenance activities and coordinating with production and logistics teams to minimize downtime
  • Experience managing equipment installation projects and external vendors; plant startup experience is a plus
  • Proven leadership and employee coaching abilities, with experience supervising at least 4 team members
  • Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. PLC, electronic, and electrical repair experience is preferred
  • Must have strong CMMS or EAM system experience and intermediate computer/MS Office skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build working relationships with your team and employees in other departments
  • Experience with vision/camera systems is a plus
  • Experience in the paper, paperboard, cardboard or other packaging manufacturing industry is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance of production machinery and other facility equipment
  • Manage equipment installation projects and external vendors
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize production downtime
  • Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and machinery
  • Plan and schedule all preventative and periodic maintenance work
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency work orders promptly
  • Initiate, update, and close work orders using the maintenance system
  • Manage the tracking and inventory of all parts, tools, and equipment warranty information, ensuring that all parts required for upcoming maintenance are in stock or ordered in a timely manner
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and the development and implementation of maintenance procedures
  • Lead maintenance team meetings and safety activities
  • Communicate regularly with production, engineering, logistics/warehouse and operations teams
