Sr Director Product Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Director Product Management based in Canada.

This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to shape product strategy and drive the evolution of customer-facing digital platforms in a growing technology-driven environment.
You will lead strategic initiatives that connect business objectives, customer needs, and scalable product solutions.
The role combines executive-level vision with hands-on product leadership, requiring strong ownership of roadmaps, prioritization, and delivery excellence.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, design, operations, compliance, and business teams to create impactful digital experiences.
As a key product leader, you will establish best practices, mentor product teams, and strengthen product capabilities across the organization.
This position is ideal for an experienced product executive passionate about innovation, customer outcomes, and building high-performing teams.

Accountabilities:

The Sr Director Product Management will be responsible for defining product direction, improving organizational maturity, and ensuring that digital products deliver measurable value for customers and the business. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and the ability to operate across complex, regulated environments.

  • Define and own long-term product strategies aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Translate executive priorities into clear product visions, roadmaps, investment plans, and execution strategies.
  • Drive prioritization decisions based on customer impact, revenue opportunities, operational efficiency, and risk considerations.
  • Champion customer-centric product development through analytics, research, experimentation, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead and develop senior product managers and product leaders, creating a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish product management frameworks, governance processes, and operating standards across teams.
  • Build scalable product practices for discovery, prioritization, delivery, and performance measurement.
  • Partner with engineering, design, operations, compliance, legal, finance, and marketing teams to deliver successful products.
  • Ensure products support business workflows, operational efficiency, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Promote technical excellence, platform thinking, accessibility, and sustainable product decisions.
  • Drive adoption of modern product tools and AI-assisted approaches for prototyping and innovation.
  • Lead cross-functional planning sessions, roadmap discussions, and stakeholder alignment initiatives.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned product executive with extensive experience leading complex products, platforms, and high-performing teams. They should have a strong strategic mindset, excellent communication abilities, and experience operating in regulated industries.

  • 15+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, or Platform Leadership roles.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in senior product leadership positions such as Director, Senior Director, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience delivering complex products within regulated industries, preferably financial services, lending, payments, or retail finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale, modernize, and manage large mission-critical platforms.
  • Strong experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, compliance, risk, finance, and business functions.
  • Track record of delivering measurable business outcomes and improving execution predictability.
  • Exceptional executive communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience using AI-assisted prototyping tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Figma AI, or similar technologies to create interactive prototypes.
  • Strong understanding of customer-centric product development, product analytics, experimentation, and user research practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or a related field.
  • MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred.
