POSITION SUMMARY:
CFG Bank's 2027 Summer Internship Program offers Business Administration majors the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a growing and entrepreneurial financial institution. This internship is designed for students who are interested in exploring how different business functions work together to drive organizational success while applying classroom concepts to real-world projects and initiatives. Based on the original CFG internship structure, interns gain meaningful exposure to various business areas while contributing to impactful work.
This program is ideal for students who are curious, adaptable, collaborative, and eager to build a strong business foundation while exploring a variety of career paths.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
About the Internship:
From day one, summer interns are immersed in CFG’s entrepreneurial and tenacious company culture, gaining hands-on experience through:
Comprehensive orientation and ongoing workshops to foster learning and development.
Meaningful work assignments that provide real-world exposure to business operations, problem-solving, and organizational strategy.
Opportunities to collaborate across departments, gaining insights into how various functions contribute to business success.
Career development opportunities with guidance from corporate leaders, including internship managers, senior mentors, and program coordinators.
A collaborative and supportive environment where interns are encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas, and take ownership of their learning.
Professional development experiences focused on workplace etiquette, business communication, banking fundamentals, and technical skill-building.
Exposure to the banking and financial services industry, helping interns understand how business decisions influence growth, client relationships, and organizational success.
General Responsibilities:
Business Track interns may be responsible for:
Supporting department initiatives and strategic projects.
Conducting research, analyzing information, and presenting findings to team members.
Assisting with process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Supporting project management activities, including planning, coordination, and documentation.
Preparing reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
Attending meetings and maintaining detailed notes and action items.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
Shadowing professionals across various departments to gain a broader understanding of CFG Bank and the banking industry.
Preparing and presenting a final project or reflection that highlights internship experience, key learnings, and professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
Strong interest in business operations, leadership, strategy, project management, banking, or organizational development.
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
Interest in gaining exposure to multiple functions within a growing organization.
COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE:
In accordance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are committed to providing transparent wage information for all posted job opportunities. The compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.
BENEFITS AND ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION:
This is a part-time internship position. Interns are not eligible for employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, or bonus programs. Compensation is limited to the hourly wage listed above.
