Position Summary
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the security operations within Bal Harbour Shops, ensuring a secure, safe, and accessible experience for the patrons, tenants, and other property visitors. The Security Supervisor manages daily activities, enforces security protocols, and serves as a lead in escalated matters to foster a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise security officers during assigned shifts, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to potential security threats or breaches.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including parking areas, entrances, and common areas, to deter criminal activity and ensure compliance with mall policies.
- Seek out and report on safety hazards, incidents, and assist and orient stakeholders
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and customer complaints, taking appropriate action and coordinating with law enforcement if necessary.
- Investigate security breaches, accidents, or incidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons, tenants, and visitors, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing assistance as needed.
- Act as a visible presence, engaging with customers and fostering a positive and welcoming environment.
- Enforce rules, regulations, and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Conduct regular inspections of security equipment, such as cameras, alarms, and emergency exits, reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies for repair or replacement.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, reports, and daily activities, adhering to confidentiality and privacy standards.
- Conduct training sessions for security personnel on security procedures, emergency response protocols, and customer service skills.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to security officers to promote professional growth and performance improvement.
Education and Experience
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- 3 or more years progressive security and supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have strong English oral and writing skills, bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency (such as dispatch, camera systems, or first aid)
- Thorough knowledge of legal environment, experience with depositions is a plus.
- Must be capable of preparing and finalizing detailed security reports.
- Must be proficient in standard MS Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Must present a calm and professional demeanor.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires frequent walking and standing for extended periods of time in outdoor, covered conditions. Must also have the ability to speak, hear, bend, balance, squat, stoop, kneel, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 50 lbs.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must hold Florida Class "D" Security License
