Marketing Writer - PT

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Marketing Writer - PT based in the United States.

This part-time opportunity is designed for a college student looking to gain hands-on experience in a corporate marketing environment.
You will create engaging, SEO-focused content that educates customers and strengthens relationships with a trusted financial services brand.
The role combines writing, research, data analysis, and content strategy across mortgage and financial topics.
You will develop practical experience applying SEO principles, editorial standards, fact-checking, and regulatory considerations to published content.
Working remotely with a flexible schedule of approximately 30–35 hours per week, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders while managing individual assignments independently.
The position offers an opportunity to build a professional writing portfolio while developing skills in digital marketing, financial communications, and content performance.
The anticipated assignment duration is approximately 6–9 months, providing meaningful exposure to a fast-moving and highly regulated industry.

Accountabilities
  • Write new and update existing long-form content that is SEO-optimized, audience-focused, informative, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Research mortgage and financial topics using credible sources, relevant data, industry developments, and expert perspectives.
  • Develop clear, accurate, insightful content that meets applicable regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Identify and pitch compelling topics, fresh perspectives, and new angles that can engage target audiences.
  • Apply SEO best practices consistently across content to improve search visibility and performance.
  • Learn and maintain consistency with established brand voice, tone, style, and editorial standards across different content formats.
  • Ensure content is properly sourced, thoroughly researched, and fact-checked before publication.
  • Follow established production workflows, quality-control processes, and deadlines to deliver content reliably.
  • Stay informed about mortgage and financial industry news, emerging content trends, and relevant AI-powered tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and participate in regular meetings to gather information and incorporate feedback.
  • Work independently on assigned projects while maintaining effective communication with team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Less than one year of related professional experience; prior writing experience through employment, university organizations, clubs, athletics, or other activities is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and write engaging long-form articles, particularly on mortgage, financial, or other complex topics.
  • Strong interest in learning and applying SEO best practices and digital content principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly and adapt content for a specific audience.
  • Strong research, analytical, fact-checking, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to evaluate information from multiple sources and produce accurate, well-supported content.
  • Comfortable working autonomously while also collaborating effectively with teams and cross-functional stakeholders in a remote environment.
  • Receptive to feedback and able to incorporate editorial guidance into subsequent work.
  • Willingness to learn about financial services, industry regulations, emerging content practices, and AI tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines and follow established workflows.
  • No specific professional certifications or licenses are required.
