Position Summary
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily outbound shipping process, serving as the primary point of contact between carriers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams to ensure shipments are scheduled, documented, and dispatched accurately and on time. The Shipping Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining the smooth flow of goods and supporting the overall logistics process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Coordinate and schedule outbound truck shipments in accordance with daily and weekly shipping plans.
· Communicate with carriers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams to coordinate pickups and ensure timely shipment of customer orders.
· Prepare, verify, and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, inventory records, and shipping labels.
· Enter and update shipment information in internal system (DeckoWeb) and other applicable systems.
· Monitor shipments and proactively communicate and resolve delays, discrepancies, or other transportation issues.
· Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure orders are picked, staged, and loaded accurately and on schedule.
· Maintain accurate shipment and inventory movement records and ensure required documentation is complete and accessible.
· Follow company policies and applicable safety, regulatory, and transportation requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1+ year of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or a related environment OR equivalent administrative/coordination experience.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
· Ability to communicate professionally with carriers, drivers, warehouse employees, and internal teams.
Desired Qualifications & Traits
· Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
· Experience with shipping/ERP/WMS software; experience with Deckoweb is a plus.
· Experience preparing bills of lading, packing lists, shipping labels, or other freight documentation.
· Experience coordinating LTL, truckload, or other commercial freight.
· Familiarity with inventory management and warehouse processes.
· Experience troubleshooting shipment delays, discrepancies, or carrier issues.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials or packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate material handling equipment throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment Ability to work in a production/manufacturing environment, which may include varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for long periods of time, which may include hair/beard nets, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, lab coats, or protective outerwear.
- May need to operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts, as required.
