Position Summary:
The Division ofOtolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at the University of New Mexico inAlbuquerque, NM is seeking a General Otolaryngologist. Applicants should beBC/BE by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and theposition is available at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level basedon prior experience and training. Salary is commensurate with rank, trainingand experience.
This is anoutstanding opportunity to join the Faculty in the UNM Otolaryngology-Head andNeck Surgery division, providing education to medical students and residentswithin the University. UNM Health Sciences Center is the only tertiary carereferral center and only Level I trauma center in a large area of thesouthwestern United States serving a very diverse population. The facultywithin the Division, Department and throughout the Health Sciences Center allhave a strong commitment to the mission of UNM in providing care for allpatients of New Mexico and educating our future healthcare providers. You wouldbe an integral educator for our residents and medical students. We currentlyhave 3 residents per year and are proud to match students from all over thecountry. Our residents frequently graduate with operative numbers in the 90thpercentile, helping us to support their application in any fellowship and feelconfident in those who choose General Otolaryngology.
Faculty withinthe Division of Otolaryngology have the opportunity to mentor medical students,undergraduate students and to participate in several pipeline initiatives inour "Communities to Careers" programs.
The Division ofOtolaryngology faculty currently represents the breadth of fellowship trainedsubspecialists, but we also pride ourselves in maintaining a collegial, andtruly family-like team. We are a supportive group with all members willing tostep up and help one another.
Abundantresearch opportunities exist within the UNM-HSC. Faculty within the Division ofOtolaryngology have had successful clinical trials, multi-institutionalprojects and extensive grant funding. Collaboration is supported through ourDepartment of Surgery research support team, the UNM Cancer Center,partnerships with our Main Campus and with the Clinical and TranslationalResearch Centers.

The Santa Fe Opera isworld renown and Taos Ski Valley has become a major ski/snowboard destination. The Legislature justpassed a bill for Health Professionals to receive $75,000/year up to $300,000in loan forgiveness.
