Location: Chicago Heights, Illinois, with enterprise-wide oversight of Aunt Martha’s locations providing pediatric services
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Base Salary: $190,000–$210,000 annually
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer

Position Summary

The Specialty Director of Pediatrics provides clinical leadership and direction for pediatric services across Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness. Based in Chicago Heights, this position is responsible for clinical standardization, quality improvement, workforce development, and program excellence throughout the pediatric service line.

The Specialty Director partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Regional Medical Directors, operational leadership, and pediatric clinical teams while maintaining an active pediatric practice. This position also serves as a voting member of the Clinical Leadership Council.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and update pediatric clinical protocols and standing orders across all locations.

  • Lead pediatric quality-improvement initiatives and Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment compliance.

  • Oversee immunization program standards and reporting.

  • Partner with school-linked health program leadership.

  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain pediatric clinical staff.

  • Support consistency in developmental screening programs, including ASQ and M-CHAT.

  • Lead pediatric peer reviews and chart audits.

  • Represent pediatric services in grant applications and community partnerships.

  • Provide clinical expertise to pediatric training programs and clinical education partners.

  • Monitor pediatric UDS quality measures and lead improvement efforts.

  • Attend monthly Clinical Leadership Council meetings, contribute to clinical policy development, and report to the Chief Medical Officer.

  • Maintain an active pediatric clinical practice while fulfilling administrative leadership responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
  • Active Illinois medical license in good standing.

  • Board certification in Pediatrics.

  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience at Aunt Martha’s or a comparable Federally Qualified Health Center.

  • Demonstrated commitment to health equity and medically underserved communities.

  • No active disciplinary actions or unresolved peer-review findings.

  • Ability to dedicate 0.2 FTE to administrative leadership responsibilities.

  • Ability to travel to Aunt Martha’s health center locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Pediatric subspecialty expertise or demonstrated specialty leadership experience.

  • Experience developing clinical protocols or designing healthcare programs.

  • Experience training, mentoring, and developing clinicians.

  • Participation in pediatric professional associations or specialty networks.

  • Experience working within a multisite community health or FQHC environment.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to lead clinical standardization across multiple locations.

  • Ability to interpret pediatric quality data and translate findings into measurable improvements.

  • Knowledge of FQHC operations, HRSA compliance, UDS requirements, and pediatric regulatory standards.

  • Ability to balance administrative leadership responsibilities with an active clinical caseload.

  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical quality dashboards, or the ability to learn these systems quickly.

Compensation and Benefits

Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness offers a competitive compensation package and comprehensive provider benefits, including:

  • Base salary of $190,000–$210,000 annually

Leadership Appointment
