Job Description

HR Systems & Payroll Data Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a HR Systems & Payroll Data Specialist based in United States.

This is a fully remote, short-term contract opportunity supporting a critical HR systems transition.
You will play a hands-on role in migrating historical employee and payroll records from ADP to Rippling.
The position combines HR operations, payroll data, document management, and rigorous quality control.
You will work closely with HR and Payroll teams to ensure information is accurately organized and readily accessible.
Because the work involves sensitive employee information, confidentiality, compliance, and data integrity are essential.
This role is well suited to a highly organized professional who enjoys structured, detail-focused project work.
The assignment runs through October 25, 2026, with an immediate start and a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule.

Accountabilities:
  • Extract and archive historical employee records, tax documents, payroll summaries, and signed legal agreements from a read-only HR/payroll system.
  • Map, organize, and upload personnel and payroll data accurately into Rippling and designated Google Drive folders.
  • Conduct detailed data audits and quality-control reviews to identify inconsistencies, missing information, or migration errors.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information, including PII and PHI.
  • Apply appropriate record-retention, privacy, and compliance practices throughout the migration process.
  • Track migration activities and provide clear, timely progress updates to HR and Payroll leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve data issues and help ensure a smooth, accurate transition between systems.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in HR operations, administrative support, payroll, data coordination, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience working with ADP and Rippling, ideally including HRIS or payroll data migration projects.
  • Strong data-auditing, document-management, and file-organization skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and the ability to manage large volumes of digital records efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of HR record-retention requirements, PII confidentiality, and PHI privacy standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy, with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain high data quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide concise project updates.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining consistent productivity.
  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, through the duration of the short-term assignment.
Benefits:
  • $30.00 per hour compensation.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week short-term contract.
  • Fully remote position available to candidates based in the United States.
  • Assignment expected to run from an immediate start through October 25, 2026.
  • No travel required; work is performed entirely from home.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact HRIS and payroll systems transition.
  • Collaborative work with HR and Payroll stakeholders in a fully distributed environment.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessible hiring practices.
