iOS developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an iOS Developer based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to build and evolve high-quality iOS applications used by a large global audience. You will join an engineering environment focused on creating engaging, reliable, and user-friendly mobile experiences. Working closely with product and development teams, you will contribute throughout the application lifecycle, from feature planning and implementation to testing, release, and ongoing support. You will also help modernize existing applications and identify opportunities to improve performance, quality, and usability. The role suits a developer who combines strong Swift and Objective-C expertise with solid engineering fundamentals and a passion for mobile technology. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your ideas can directly influence the evolution of mobile products.

Accountabilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance fully functional iOS applications using clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Design and implement new mobile features in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
  • Create and execute unit tests and UI tests to identify defects and ensure application reliability.
  • Support the complete application lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, release, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Analyze product requirements, identify technical solutions, and recommend improvements that enhance the overall user experience.
  • Debug and optimize mobile applications to improve performance, stability, responsiveness, and usability.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to plan, prioritize, and deliver new functionality.
  • Maintain legacy applications and identify opportunities to improve, modernize, or replace outdated components.
  • Ensure applications comply with established engineering, quality, and performance standards.
  • Research emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, tools, and development practices and assess their potential value.
  • Contribute ideas for new features, applications, integrations, and technical approaches that can improve the mobile product experience.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of professional experience working as an iOS Developer or in a closely related mobile development role.
  • Demonstrated experience publishing mobile applications through the Apple App Store.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift and Objective-C.
  • Hands-on experience working with third-party libraries, SDKs, and APIs.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Good understanding of mobile application development, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic development environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Experience with chat or streaming applications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with mobile analytics and tracking tools, such as Firebase Analytics, is advantageous.
  • Experience with WebRTC is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WebSocket-based communication is advantageous.
  • Strong UI/UX awareness and a good eye for mobile interface quality are desirable.
  • Passion for mobile platforms and an interest in keeping up with evolving technologies and development trends.
