The Opportunity

Position Title: Family Empowerment Worker

Location: Prince George

Employment Type: Casual

What You’ll Do

As our Family Empowerment Worker, you will be responsible for providing supervised visitation for children-in-care with family members. The incumbent will provide transportation to and from visits for children and teach life skills to parents and other family members who access the Family Empowerment Program.

  • Teaches life skills to the parents and other family members who access services from the Family Empowerment program. These include; behavior modification methods, role modeling, open discussions, and role-playing.
  • Schedule all access visits between children and their families with foster families and biological families as directed by the Family Support Supervisor.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and concise reports of supervised access: Reporting details observed with respect to the family dynamics.

What You Will Bring to The Role

  • Social Services Diploma/Certificate preferred; or
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years’ experience in a related area of practice
  • Two years’ experience in a related area of practice

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $26.4408 to $34.2415 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity
