Job Title: Deputy Domestics Manager

Reports To: Branch Manager

Schedule: Overnight Shift | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM | Monday – Friday (Weekends as Needed)

Employment Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Executive Summary:

This role is a strategic investment to establish operational control within the designated UPS hub, reduce shipment loss exposure, and build a scalable domestic logistics node. The Deputy Domestic Manager will operate as the on-site leader responsible for transforming current manual workflows into a controlled, technology-enabled, and revenue-supporting operation. This position is expected to evolve into a branch-level leadership role within 6–12 months.

Strategic Objectives:
  • Establish full operational visibility and control at designated UPS hub
  • Implement scanning and tracking infrastructure for shipment accountability
  • Reduce losses, misroutes, and operational inefficiencies
  • Build a foundation for a scalable domestic branch operation
  • Support transition from cost center to profit-generating operation
Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all inbound/outbound shipments within UPS facility
  • Enforce security protocols (seal checks, chain of custody, compliance)
  • Implement and manage real-time tracking and scanning processes
  • Investigate discrepancies and resolve operational issues
  • Coordinate with UPS, vendors, and internal departments
  • Manage domestic flow including special pickups and international routing
  • Provide reporting on delays, losses, and operational metrics
  • Support hiring and training of future team members
  • Assist in building delivery operations and branch infrastructure
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years logistics, transportation, or secure goods experience
  • Experience in UPS/air freight or hub environments preferred
  • Strong operational leadership and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work overnight and manage real-time operations
