Job Description

Description:

About the Role

Pinnacle Veterinary Specialists is seeking an Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Nursing Supervisor to join our growing leadership team. As the ECC Nursing Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the ECC service and leading the nursing support team. This role partners closely with hospital leadership and ECC shift leads to maintain exceptional patient care, efficient workflow, and a positive team culture.

This role combines clinical leadership with hands-on nursing, spending about 40–60% of the time working alongside the team on the floor. This leadership role keeps the ECC Nursing Supervisor actively involved with the team and present on the hospital floor. The supervisor leads by example, provides hands-on support, and balances clinical engagement with administrative responsibilities.

This is an excellent next-step role for a VTS (or experienced credentialed technician) ready to expand leadership scope without losing clinical identity. If you want to lead teams, elevate systems, and still stay clinically connected to uphold the standard of medicine, this role was designed for you.

Key Responsibilities & Impact:

· Team & Culture Builder: Directly oversee, support, and mentor all ECC nursing and nursing assistant staff. You’ll participate in the hiring process, create and finalize schedules, conduct performance reviews, and champion a positive, kind, collaborative work environment.

· Operational Excellence: Drive process and workflow improvements within the ECC service and collaborate with ECC and specialty doctors to standardize procedures, and suggest improvements to boost efficiency and quality of care.

· Interdepartmental Connector: Partner closely with the Specialty Nursing Supervisor to ensure smooth patient transitions and provide mutual staffing support, guaranteeing a cohesive patient care team hospital wide.

· Safety & Resources Champion: Ensure all teams have the functional, necessary equipment and enforce strict compliance with hospital safety and regulatory standards.

· Next-Generation Leader: Foster growth by leading monthly ECC Shift Lead meetings, participate in weekly hospital leadership meetings, and develop a leadership training program for ECC shift leads and other nurses interested in developing their leadership and communication skills.
