What if you could become part of a young person's journey toward healing, stability, and a better future?

CHOR Youth & Family Services is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care and clinical support to children and adolescents receiving residential and behavioral health services in Reading, Pennsylvania.

This is an opportunity to use your nursing expertise in a different kind of healthcare environment—one where relationships matter, teamwork matters, and you have the opportunity to see the difference your care makes.

You'll work alongside psychiatrists, physicians, behavioral health professionals, therapists, direct care teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team to support the physical, behavioral, and emotional health of the youth we serve.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Build relationships with youth rather than moving from patient to patient

  • Work as an important member of an interdisciplinary treatment team

  • Expand your experience in behavioral and mental health nursing

  • Help youth achieve greater health, stability, and independence

  • Work in a mission-driven environment where nursing has a direct impact on treatment outcomes

  • Develop specialized experience working with children and adolescents

  • Opportunity for professional growth within a large human services organization

  • $500 Sign-On Bonus

What You'll Do
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to children and adolescents receiving residential and behavioral health services.

  • Complete nursing assessments and monitor physical, behavioral, and emotional health needs.

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and organizational policies.

  • Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, changes, and potential health concerns.

  • Coordinate medical, psychiatric, dental, vision, and specialty healthcare services.

  • Communicate changes in health status, medication, treatment, and follow-up needs to the interdisciplinary treatment team.

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, behavioral health professionals, direct care staff, families, and other members of the treatment team.

  • Help youth understand their health needs and develop healthy habits and greater awareness of their overall wellness.

  • Coordinate and follow up on medical appointments, laboratory work, specialty services, and other healthcare needs.

  • Support medication management, infection prevention, health and safety, and emergency response procedures.

  • Provide nursing guidance and health education to program staff.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.

  • Participate in treatment planning and contribute the nursing perspective to each youth's overall plan of care.

  • Advocate for the health, safety, dignity, and well-being of every child and adolescent we serve.

Who We're Looking For

You may be an experienced behavioral health nurse—or you may be an RN ready to take your career in a new direction.

What matters most is your clinical judgment, compassion, ability to connect with young people, and commitment to helping children and families succeed.

Qualifications
  • Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

  • Strong nursing assessment and clinical decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
