Medical Assistant – Vascular Practice

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable Medical Assistant to join our growing vascular practice. The Medical Assistant will support physicians and clinical staff by preparing patients for visits, assisting with in-office procedures, coordinating patient care, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication lists.
- Prepare exam and procedure rooms, ensuring equipment and supplies are stocked.
- Assist physicians during office visits and minor vascular procedures.
- Perform EKGs, collect specimens, administer injections (as permitted by state law), and remove sutures or dressings when appropriate.
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and assist with prior authorizations.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment while following infection control and HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience; vascular, cardiology, surgery, or interventional radiology experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and function as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Vascular, vein, interventional radiology, cardiology, or surgical practice experience.
- Experience assisting with in-office procedures and patient education.
