PREFERENCES

Demonstrated experience in labor relations, including contract interpretation, collective bargaining support, grievance administration, and union-management collaboration.
¿ Proven ability to conduct employee relations investigations, including workplace concerns, policy violations, misconduct allegations, and corrective action recommendations.
¿ Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills, with the ability to facilitate productive outcomes and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
¿ Extensive experience managing complex employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, and workplace issue resolution.
¿ Experience leading or supporting grievance management processes, arbitration preparation, and resolution of labor disputes in a unionized environment.
¿ Demonstrated capability in strategic business planning and workforce partnership, aligning HR strategies, organizational design, talent planning, and change initiatives with business objectives
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or HR certification

Human Resources Consultant (HR Business Partner)

Salary Grade: G06
Minimum Midpoint Maximum
$82,463 - $111,325 - $140,187

SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, supports one or more business segments of the company. Provides strategic HR consultation to business units to help achieve operational excellence. Works with all levels of management and non-management employees to help meet company goals and objectives. Oversees and/or participates in the delivery of human resource programs including: staffing, compensation, benefits, labor relations, employee relations, org development, and compliance. Designs and implements services, programs, and procedures to help achieve corporate goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides strategic HR consulting services to the leadership of business unit management
Consults with management on strategies and initiatives related to staffing, compensation, benefits, labor relations, employee relations, org development, and compliance
Provides direction in the management of human resources strategies, programs, and practices
Designs and implements solutions, programs, policies, and services that are responsive to the needs of the client group
Serves as a consultant between HR and the supported client areas, providing resolution to complex matters
Provides guidance to both management and non-management employees regarding human resource practices, policy interpretation, problem resolution, and compliance with state and federal law

Serves as initial point of advice, problem resolution, and facilitation in the areas of employee relations, learning, performance management, and employee discipline; advises employees and management regarding employee relations policies, procedures, and documentation; researches, identifies, and analyzes specific employee relations concerns and makes appropriate recommendations to client management
Consults on compliance/diversity initiatives and ongoing non-discriminatory employment practices
Assures that the development and execution of policies governing HR practices are in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
May act as lead on special projects and other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES:
Ability to anticipate client needs while balancing those needs with HR expectations
Knowledge of human resources including strategic partnership with management, design and implementation of strategies and initiatives related to staffing, compensation, benefits, labor relations, employee relations, org development, and compliance
Demonstrated skill in analyzing processes and procedures, formulating policy, and recommending improvements

Ability to provide consultation on solutions and strategic initiatives with sound judgement
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to human resource issues;
Ability to consult effectively in a team environment and adapts to changing client and organization needs
Demonstrated knowledge of the supported business units

QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with five to six years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
May need to possess current, legally valid driver¿s license and meet the Company¿s driving record requirements.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to respond to highly sensitive inquiries or complaints
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present sensitive information in one-on-one, large and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Strong inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications
Working knowledge of database, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing software

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where minimal standardization exists.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment.
Occasional travel may be required.
