Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
Key Responsibilities
- Build and configure the prototype virtualization environment on the designated commercial server platform.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot virtualized voice, voice-recording, and supporting network services.
- Develop and execute prototype configurations for high availability, virtual networking, virtual LANs, quality of service, and system backup and recovery.
- Integrate wireless client devices, wireless routing, and voice call paths with the prototype environment and approved handset interfaces.
- Support trade-study research and hands-on evaluation of candidate voice-recording, network-switching, network security gateways or boundary-protection solutions, and related commercial components.
- Integrate and test analog telephony, audio, relay, and other legacy interfaces using appropriate analog telephony gateways, interface adapters, or test fixtures.
- Create test procedures, collect logs and performance data, document defects, and support root-cause analysis.
- Execute integration testing in designated laboratory environments and document results against defined acceptance criteria.
- Maintain version-controlled configuration files, build notes, network diagrams, test records, and engineering artifacts.
- Support development of technical-report content, including prototype design, test results, limitations, and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Linux, virtualization, IP networking, managed switches, virtual LANs, power over Ethernet, and network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting containerized applications using Kubernetes or a comparable container-orchestration platform, including containers, service networking, persistent storage, and configuration management.
- Working knowledge of voice-over-IP concepts, session-based communications, private-branch-exchange systems, and voice/audio troubleshooting.
- Experience developing and executing integration or verification tests for complex systems.
- Ability to interpret system drawings, interface-control documents, network diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Strong written documentation skills and disciplined configuration-management habits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with virtualization, containers, scripting, or automation using Python, Bash, or Ansible.
- Familiarity with mobile-device integration, wireless LAN design, certificate-based authentication, certificate services, or secure wireless solutions.
- Experience with analog telephony, analog telephony gateways, interface adapters, audio capture, relay I/O, or industrial Ethernet interfaces.
- Exposure to naval, maritime, enterprise communications, or lab-based integration environments.

Salary Note
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
Combined Salary Range
USD $112,924.00 - USD $125,275.00 /Yr.
