Done by 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Nights and weekends are yours.
And the food you make each morning feeds thousands of Arizona students. At Nutrition One, our production kitchen prepares school breakfasts and lunches for kids who count on those meals every day. As a Production Prep Cook, you'll work hands-on in a high-volume kitchen, preparing hot and cold menu items that leave our building on time and ready for school. At a Glance
- Pay: Cold Prep $17.00–$18.50/hr | Hot Prep $18.00–$19.50/hr
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, generally done by 3:00 PM. No nights, no weekends.
- Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance (eligible after 60 days), plus a 401(k) with a 100% company match up to 6%
- Paid time off: Vacation, sick time, and 6 paid holidays (eligible after 90 days)

What You'll Do
- Prepare hot and cold menu items using standardized recipes.
- Portion meals to USDA meal-pattern guidelines, including allergy-sensitive meals prepared accurately and safely.
- Keep high-volume production lines moving to hit daily meal targets.
- Follow our HACCP food-safety and sanitation standards.
- Clean and sanitize workstations, dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Work with Kitchen Leads and teammates, and help with on-site school meal service when needed.
What We're Looking For
- At least 6 months of experience in a production kitchen or food-service environment.
- Food Handler's Card, or the ability to obtain one within 5 days of hire.
- Able to read and follow recipes, instructions, and portioning guidelines.
- Basic math and portioning accuracy.
- Reliable attendance and a team-first, flexible attitude.
- Spanish bilingual is a plus.
The Honest Details

- Early starts. Hot Prep can begin between 1:00 and 3:00 AM; Cold Prep typically begins between 4:00 and 7:00 AM. Schedules are assigned based on operational needs.
- Fast, physical work. You'll be on your feet for your full shift, doing repetitive tasks, lifting up to 50 lbs, and moving carts up to 100 lbs.
- A real production kitchen. Expect heat, cold, noise, knives, commercial equipment, food odors, and cleaning chemicals.
- School-year rhythm. Hours may decrease or pause during school breaks (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer).
