This leadership role sits at the intersection of advanced technology, field operations, and global infrastructure intelligence. You will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing international network of certified operators supporting drone-based inspections of critical assets. The position blends strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring consistent, safe, and high-quality data capture across diverse environments. Working remotely within Canada, you will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and commercial teams to industrialize field deployment capabilities. You will lead the design and scaling of a global drone-enabled inspection network while establishing the operational backbone that supports consistent and reliable field execution across regions.
- Design and expand a certified DRONIC operator network across Canada, the United States, and international markets, ensuring scalable geographic coverage and deployment readiness.
- Build certification, training, and qualification frameworks for operators performing visual, thermal, and acoustic inspections, ensuring consistent technical standards.
- Define and enforce quality assurance systems, including field data acceptance criteria, audit processes, and performance benchmarks.
- Ensure compliance with aviation and safety regulations (including Transport Canada and FAA requirements), maintaining operational risk management systems.
- Develop SOPs, KPIs, and operational models that improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability of distributed field teams and partners.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage external inspection partners while establishing clear service-level expectations and accountability structures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, sales, and customer success teams to align field operations with technology evolution and client delivery needs.
This role requires a seasoned operations leader with strong expertise in drone systems, field deployment programs, or infrastructure inspection environments, combined with the ability to scale complex operational networks.
- 7+ years of experience in drone operations, geomatics, infrastructure inspection, reality capture, or related field-based technical programs.
- Proven experience managing distributed teams, contractor networks, or multi-site operational systems.
- Strong knowledge of RPAS/UAV operations, including regulatory frameworks and safety compliance.
- Experience developing SOPs, certification programs, operational standards, and quality assurance systems.
- Familiarity with geospatial data collection, photogrammetry, or infrastructure asset inspection methodologies.
- Strong systems thinking, analytical ability, and experience solving complex operational challenges in dynamic environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and executive audiences.
- Experience in regulated environments and comfort operating within strict safety and compliance requirements.
- Bonus: Transport Canada Advanced RPAS certification, NDT or structural health monitoring experience, or exposure to thermal inspection systems.
