Job Description
Our Sonographers in the Cardiology Clinic are an integral part of the care of our Cardiology Clinic patients. We are looking for a skilled sonographer with some specific credentials (see below) to care for our patients in our beautiful Heart and Vascular Institute.

Details:

Full-time
-
32-40 hours per week
-
Weekdays, clinic hours
-
RDCS and RVT (see below)
JOB SUMMARY:
Operates ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images, prepares room equipment, and supplies. Provides patient care during imaging procedures. Records information for the patient’s medical records. Explains the procedure to the patient.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Preferred ARDMS registry card on file. Registry-eligible with ARDMS (RVT) and/or CCI (RVS) for vascular; RDCS or RCS for cardiac required (or eligible within 6 months of hire).

Preferred graduate from a JRC-DMS/CAAHEP accredited school program, or equivalent training.
-
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Current BLS card or completion of course within 30 days of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
-
Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing.
-
Able to frequently lift up to 60 pounds, reach, pull, bend, stoop and kneel.
-
Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read, write, and evaluate medical images.
-
Able to hear and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the telephone.
-
Able to hear, see and feel to accurately observe, monitor and administer care.
-
Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e. operate ultrasound equipment, venipuncture if needed).
