Position Summary

To support the manufacturing of company products by completing production processes with direction and supervision. To support a highly empowered, world-class team to deliver excellent safety, quality, delivery and efficiency results. To assist in the continuous improvement of production processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required. Other duties as assigned.

Duties:

  • Prepare, blend and compound membrane materials (e.g. polymers, coatings, additives) to meet specifications.
  • Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Perform inline testing, maintain cleanliness/sanitation, and ensure compliance with quality and GMP standards.
  • Operates blending, coating, or compounding equipment, troubleshooting and maintaining machinery.
  • Complete and maintain SOPs, work instructions and production records.
  • Meets safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency standards.
  • Follows documented standard work instructions and procedures.
  • Runs and sets up processes and equipment.
  • Performs product inspection.
  • Competent in multiple workstations.
  • Subject matter expert who can perform process audits in multiple workstations.
  • Ability to cross train multiple workstations.
  • Demonstrated performance across all product types and families.
  • Collects data from process and completes paperwork with production information.
  • Uses computer to collect required production data.
  • Leads 5S in assigned production area.
  • Reads and understands information and ideas presented in English.
  • Assists production continuous improvement efforts.
  • Performs work as assigned by supervisor/lead.
  • Performs simple equipment maintenance.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Identifies and assists with troubleshooting, and in resolving machine issues.

Skills

  • Proficiency in ready and interpreting GMP documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and safety.
  • Basic knowledge of compounding equipment and processes
  • Mathematical Skills (add, subtract, multiply, & divide quickly and correctly).
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word & Email).
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet production demands.

Abilities

  • Ability to read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or material requirements.
  • Ability to follow compounding and mixing standards
  • Ability to safely handle manufacturing chemicals and raw materials in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to Communicate information and ideas clearly. This includes the ability to speak, read and write clearly and accurately in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to wear protective equipment such as safety glasses, hair net, and hearing protection
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, food/pharmaceutical compounding, or membrane/water treatment manufacturing is preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Highly Dependable with ability to report on-time to start of company working shifts.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with assembly/equipment/automated manufacturing.
  • Experience in Membrane Filtration industry.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Netsuite experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to operate mixing machinery.
  • Must be able handle ingredients or substances to be used in production processes.
  • Wear protective safety equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, glasses, coats, etc.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to demonstrate activities
  • Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching

Work Environment

The work environment described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
  • The role is exposed to a variety of conditions that may be found while walking the production floor.
  • No travel will be required for this position.
  • 100% of the time spent on the production floor.
  • Work extended hours as needed.
