Scope
Responsible for overall electrical maintenance in a mill that operates twenty-four hours a day. Develop, administer, and manage preventive and repair maintenance programs. Coordinate the daily activities of hourly electrical maintenance personnel. Communicate with plant personnel on overall electrical issues to aid process improvement. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Duties: Manage installation, maintenance, and repair teams to ensure safe, compliant operation of industrial electrical systems and equipment. Oversight of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Financial: Monitor project budgets.
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of electricians, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety protocols. Develop work assignments and review work performed. Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and personnel management skills.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex electrical malfunctions and implement immediate repairs to minimize operational downtime. Ensure preventative maintenance programs are developed and in place.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industrial electrical systems (Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs), and proficient understanding of mechanical systems to complement electrical knowledge.
- Safety: Must demonstrate exemplary safety performance and lead the way for the team to work safely.
- Continuous Improvement: Must be committed to leading a reliability-based facility to minimize equipment downtime.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function. Successful candidate will have extensive preventive maintenance experience, as well as project management, planning, and problem solving skills; excellent communication skills and experience with employee involvement activities; demonstrated excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow-up procedures; strong leadership qualities relating to coaching and counseling, promoting a culture that supports an environment of total quality; a focus on safety; a strong desire to facilitate change through continuous improvement in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: B.S. degree in Engineering, Science or related field preferred. More than five (5) years’ experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment preferred. Prior supervisory or lead person experience in a maintenance environment preferred.
