DevOps Engineer

Position Summary
As a DevOps Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for the architecture, design, automation, and optimization of our deployment pipelines and cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with Developers, Functional Analysts, QA, and the Infrastructure team to deliver scalable, maintainable, and highly reliable applications.
This role requires deep expertise in modern CI/CD practices, cloud architecture, and infrastructure as code. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a passion for continuous innovation, performance optimization, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & CI/CD Management
Design, develop, and maintain modern, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure using contemporary DevOps technologies.
Build, maintain, and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines leveraging Jenkins and Maven to ensure seamless software delivery.
Architect and manage R&D’s AWS cloud environments, ensuring high availability and system resilience.
Ensure applications and infrastructure are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.

System Reliability & Operations
Collaborate with development teams to define operational requirements and ensure seamless application functionality.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration and deployment issues across multiple environments.

Technical Leadership & Innovation
Stay current with emerging DevOps technologies, frameworks, deployment methodologies, and industry trends.
Evaluate new tools and technologies that can improve operational efficiency, maintainability, and infrastructure reliability.
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to strategic technology decisions.

Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with Developers, Functional Analysts, QA and the Infrastructure team to deliver product enhancements and new functionality securely and efficiently.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation sessions, and retrospectives.
Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
Recommend improvements to infrastructure frameworks, deployment processes, and operational practices.
Contribute to the evolution of FreeBalance engineering standards and delivery methodologies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintainability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
Experience & Qualifications (Required)
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or infrastructure roles for enterprise-scale applications.
Proven experience designing and supporting large, complex applications in collaborative Agile environments.

DevOps Technical Expertise
Advanced hands-on expertise managing and scaling infrastructure within AWS.
Strong experience administering CI/CD automation servers, specifically Jenkins.
Deep understanding of build automation tools, highly proficient with Maven.
Good understanding of major RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) tooling related to backup and restore operations
Proficiency with Git and branching conventions.
Experience with automated testing, debugging, and performance profiling tools.
Knowledgeable in scripting languages: Bash, Groovy (Jenkins), Windows PowerShell

Interpersonal & Leadership
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to lead technical discussions and influence architectural decisions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
Other
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Organized, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively in a distributed, multicultural, and global environment.
Preferred Experience
Experience developing and supporting enterprise software, ERP, GRP, IFMIS, or other large-scale business applications.
Experience with cloud-native application environments and containerized deployments.
AWS certifications (DevOps, Solutions Architect) would be an asset.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Familiarity and hands-on experience with relevant AI tools and technologies.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, e.g., Terraform, Ansible
