Job Description

Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted flow of raw materials, components, and finished goods to support production schedules and customer demand. This role requires close coordination with suppliers, production teams, and logistics partners to optimize inventory levels, minimize costs, and meet stringent automotive industry requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing waste.
Develop and maintain detailed MPS/MRP to meet customer demands, considering capacity, labor, materials, and equipment availability.
Monitor and adjust schedules to respond to changes in demand, supply disruptions, or production delay, identifying potential bottlenecks and areas for improvement in the schedule.
Communicate proactively with customers regarding order status, delivery timelines, and potential delays and provide regular updates on production status, schedule adherence, and any potential delays to upper management.
Communicate material requirements to suppliers and monitor delivery performance.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, or quality issues.
Support supplier development initiatives to improve reliability and responsiveness.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance production needs with cost efficiency.
Track and analyze inventory metrics (turns, days of supply, obsolescence).
Implement corrective actions to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
Work with Carriers to schedule inbound/outbound shipments and manage transportation constraints.
Use ERP/MRP systems to manage scheduling data and generate reports on material availability, supplier performance, and inventory status.
Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Engineering, Quality Control and Sales teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and material flow bottlenecks.
Ensure compliance with Just-in-Time (JIT) and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in scheduling and supply chain processes.
Support audits and maintain accurate documentation of material planning processes.

Preferred Education and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in production scheduling, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of automotive production processes, supply chain management, and lean manufacturing principles.
Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint). E
Experience with EDI and customer portals (e.g., OEM systems)
