Overview

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) contracted with Achieve Behavior Alliance Plus, LLC provide individualized care to clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Contractors help clients build independence through daily living assistance, skill development, and community involvement. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, independence, and meaningful work that positively impacts clients’ lives. DSPs provide services under an independent contractor agreement and are not employees of Achieve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care support, including meal preparation, mobility assistance, personal hygiene, and independence-building tasks
  • Follow the client’s ISP to deliver skill-building, communication support, community participation, and social/recreational activities
  • Document accurate session notes
  • Report any changes in client behavior, health, or well-being
  • Maintain professional communication with families, coordinators, and other providers
  • Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment while upholding client dignity and privacy
  • Coordinate scheduling directly with clients/families
Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Professionalism, reliability, and independent problem-solving
  • Ability to adapt to changing client needs
  • Capacity to maintain accurate documentation
  • Familiarity with EVV and electronic documentation
  • Previous DSP or caregiving experience

These skills support compassionate, effective care that promotes client independence, safety, and community inclusion.

Physical Requirements

Contractors must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach
  • Assist with transfers
  • Provide support during showers or personal care
  • Safely assist clients with limited mobility

Required Certifications

Must have valid certification or attain certification prior to providing services:

  • Indiana DSP Core Certification
  • CPR & First Aid (initial certification fee covered by Achieve; renewal fees incurred by Contractor)
  • Negative TB test (initial test fee covered by Achieve; renewal fees incurred by Contractor)
  • Clean background check processed through C4 Operations (initial background check covered by Achieve; fees for renewals completed every 3 years incurred by Contract)
  • HIPAA compliance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred not required
  • Valid driver’s license or state ID with reliable transportation to and from clients location
  • Clean background check
  • Ability to obtain required certifications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Access to a mobile phone or desktop computer
  • Prior DSP or caregiving experience
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Familiarity with EVV and digital documentation
  • Additional training in disability support or healthcare fields
