The Field Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving insurance claims in the field. This role requires direct interaction with policyholders, witnesses, and third parties to gather relevant information and assess damage. The adjuster ensures claims are processed efficiently and fairly, in accordance with policy terms and company guidelines.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Orion180 operations standards, established security/safety rules and requirements for attendance. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:
- Conduct on-site inspections and investigations to assess property damage and loss.
- Interview policyholders, witnesses, and other parties involved.
- Document findings through photographs, reports, and detailed notes.
- Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage and liability.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on findings and recommendations for claim settlement.
- Negotiate settlements with policyholders and third parties.
- Handle dispute resolution.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with policyholders and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as underwriters and legal advisors, to resolve complex claims.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Respond to catastrophe locations and markets when needed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in field claims adjusting, with experience dealing with public adjusters.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Xactimate and other Xactware products; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; familiarity with local building codes and repair processes.
- Licensing and Certifications: Valid adjuster’s license in Georgia; certification or advanced training in claims adjusting (e.g., CPCU, AIC).
- Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance policies and claims processes.
- Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills and experience in dispute resolution.
Education:
· College degree preferred but combination of experience, education, and industry certifications will be considered
Required Experience:
· Minimum 5 years of field adjusting experience
Preferred Experience
· 7+ years of field adjusting experience

The office environment is fast-paced and collaborative. An employee must be willing and able to work their regularly assigned work schedule onsite, and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company or departmental needs, project requirements, or customer demands.
While performing general duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, comprehending, and reading; being able to lift light objects (<25 lbs); and using standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist, or squat down to open/close cabinets and reach for files or other standard office-type objects.
