Job Description

Pacifico Energy develops, finances, builds, and operates energy infrastructure that powers businesses and communities. In the U.S., we are tackling one of the biggest challenges facing AI and large-scale data centers: access to reliable power. Our private grids bring dedicated generation and energy storage directly to customers, helping projects move forward without waiting for traditional utility connections. We draw on Pacifico Energy Group’s experience across the U.S., Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam, spanning solar, wind, battery storage, and natural gas. Joining Pacifico means helping turn ambitious energy projects into operating infrastructure, with work that connects directly to the people and businesses building the future of AI.

Cedar Creek is a 1,100 MW simple-cycle gas turbine power project built under a lump-sum EPC contract. As Mechanical Engineer you govern the mechanical design on the owner's behalf: major equipment, tanks, water treatment, fire protection, HVAC and the mechanical balance of plant.

What you get to do:

  • Review mechanical design deliverables, datasheets and equipment specifications.
  • Assess vendor submittals against the technical specification.
  • Evaluate mechanical change requests and field queries.
  • Review system design for operability and maintainability.
  • Partner with the site team on mechanical technical questions.
  • Track design deliverable status against the schedule.
  • Monitor preservation and storage requirements against vendor specifications.

What you bring to the role:

  • 10+ years in mechanical engineering for power or process plants.
  • Working knowledge of ASME codes and API standards.
  • Hands-on experience with rotating equipment and plant auxiliary systems.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu, Procore and AI tools used with human verification.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering — required for this position.

Nice to have:

  • Owner-side engineering experience.
  • Professional engineering registration.
