DSI delivers turnkey solutions including process piping, specialty gas systems, ultra-high-purity systems, mechanical/HVAC, process, construction, modular fabrication, utility infrastructure, and facility support services.
As part of the Quanta Services family of companies, DSI combines the agility and technical expertise of a specialized engineering organization with the resources, stability, and nationwide reach of one of North America's premier infrastructure companies.

This is an opportunity to join a growing team, help establish engineering standards, develop innovative technical solutions, and contribute to projects that have a direct impact on some of the world's most advanced manufacturing and technology facilities.
Position Summary
Provides structural engineering support for DSI's HVAC and plumbing mechanical projects, focused on equipment support, seismic bracing/anchorage, and structural coordination for mechanical systems. Works closely with mechanical engineers and designers to ensure mechanical equipment is properly supported and structurally coordinated with the building. This is a support role to DSI's core mechanical scope — not a stand-alone structural design practice.

Perform seismic bracing and anchorage calculations for mechanical equipment and distribution systems per applicable code requirements
Coordinate structural loading of mechanical equipment with the structural engineer of record and general contractor
Review structural drawings for coordination with mechanical equipment weights, locations, and support requirements
Support site visits and field coordination to verify structural supports match mechanical equipment requirements
Review and respond to RFIs related to structural-mechanical coordination during construction
Ensure structural scope tied to mechanical systems complies with applicable building codes and seismic requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) or related field
4–8 years' experience in structural design, ideally with exposure to mechanical equipment support and seismic bracing
Working knowledge of equipment anchorage, seismic design requirements, and structural loading analysis
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural construction documents
Strong coordination and communication skills for working across mechanical and structural trades
Preferred Qualifications
PE license or EIT (Structural)
Experience with mechanical contractor or design-build project delivery
Familiarity with Revit Structure or similar BIM coordination tools
Benefits Highlights
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
401(k) plan with company match
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
Paid holidays, vacation, and personal time
Training, professional development, and support for licensure/professional association dues
