POSITION SUMMARY
Provides leadership, direction and administration for all Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) functions, employees and activities as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, ASC Committee/Cookeville Counsel and Campbell Clinic Board of Directors to ensure accomplishment of Campbell Clinic Objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
- Participates with the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Committee/Cookeville Counsel and Administration in charting and implementing ASC mission and updates strategic long-term plans to support Campbell Surgery Center philosophy and goals
- Informs ASC Committee/Cookeville Counsel and Administration about current trends, problems and activities in the medical field to facilitate policy making while giving appropriate notification of ongoing activities and potential problems.
- Reviews financial and monthly reports
- Coordinates the long-range financial goals and directs the preparation/administration of budget
- Participates and coordinates selection and training of new management team members and employees with the support of the Human Resources
- Plans and initiates new projects within approved guidelines from the ASC Committee/Cookeville Counsel and Administration making certain all personnel are informed and trained
- Keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthy employee
- Coordinates, with ASC Committee/Cookeville Counsel and Administration, the ASC's compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of the accrediting bodies. Continually monitors operations, programs and physical properties. Initiates appropriate changes
- Coordinates, with ASC Committee/Cookeville Counsel and Administration on policies/procedures and compliance of government regulations
- Makes certain appropriate management guidelines are developed/activated for each area of responsibility and all compliance with established policies, procedures and standards.
- Evaluates ongoing patient care making certain patient care is in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures, reports significant patient problems and unusual occurrences to ASC Committee/Cookeville Counsel and Administration
- Represents the ASC in its relationships with other health organizations, government agencies and third party payers
- Participates in quality improvement and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure that ASC quality standards are met
- Ensures accuracy of productivity and QI data compiled and reports necessary data to management and regulatory bodies
- Participates in loss prevention by protecting company assets and maintaining a safe environment
- Manages Surgery Center Managers who supervise employees in the Clinical Operations, Nursing Operations, Reception/pre-cert operations and Business Office operations. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
- Assists managers as needed with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
- Performs all other duties as assigned
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Graduate of accredited post-secondary school of nursing required.
Experience: 6 plus years of related experience and/or training.
Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Must have knowledge of Internet software, Payroll systems, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
Certifications & Licenses: Current TN Registered Nurse License or Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact required.
BLS and ACLS required.
PALS preferred – If not currently certified, must be able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Other Requirements: Ability to immediately recognize and initiate treatment in emergency situations (perform CPR).
Must be able to read and interpret EKG monitor.
Must have knowledge of anesthetic agents used - inhalation, moderate sedation and injection; the usual dosages, symptoms of and toxic amounts, duration of action, contraindications, antidotes, etc.
Able to operate and troubleshoot equipment found in surgery.
