Shopify UX Designer / Web Developer in Clearwater, Florida at International Diamond Center

Job Summary
The Shopify UX Designer / Web Developer will help rebuild and enhance International Diamond Center’s e-commerce website and online customer experience. Working closely with the Marketing and Creative teams, this role will help shape the customer journey from concept through execution. The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, understands customer behavior, and can bring innovative ideas to life within Shopify.

Primary Responsibilities
UX & E-Commerce
• Design and optimize user experiences across the e-commerce website, with a focus on usability, engagement, and conversion.
• Evaluate customer journeys and identify opportunities to improve navigation, functionality, and the overall online shopping experience.
• Apply e-commerce best practices to create a seamless and engaging customer experience.
• Proactively recommend website and UX improvements based on customer behavior, business objectives, and industry trends.

Shopify Development & Website Support
• Help rebuild, customize, and enhance the International Diamond Center website within Shopify.
• Develop and customize Shopify themes, including theming, customization, and scaffolding.
• Use Shopify Liquid to customize website components and functionality.
• Troubleshoot website design and functionality issues and develop creative, practical solutions.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and ensure website content and functionality are accurate and consistent.

Marketing & Creative Collaboration
• Work closely with the Marketing and Creative teams to translate concepts and business objectives into effective digital experiences.
• Collaborate on website design and digital initiatives from concept through execution.
• Contribute creative ideas that strengthen the brand and improve online customer experience.
• Stay current with Shopify capabilities, UX practices, e-commerce trends, and emerging digital technologies.

Project Management & Initiative
• Manage assigned website and e-commerce projects independently and proactively
• Prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
• Take initiative in identifying opportunities, solving problems, and improving existing processes and functionality.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Strong understanding of UX design and customer journey optimization
• Proficiency in Shopify theming, customization, and scaffolding
• Working knowledge of Shopify Liquid
• Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills
• Self-starter with strong time management skills
• Ability to manage projects independently and proactively recommend improvements
• Ability to work collaboratively with Marketing and Creative team members
• College senior or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Web Design, UX Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a related field preferred

Requirements
• Must work in person at the Clearwater, Florida location
• Minimum of 25 hours per week
• Part-time position with potential for full-time employment
