Diabetes Nurse Specialist / Diabetes Nurse Educator #060 in Riyadh at Adilstone Group

Position Overview

A well-established healthcare organization in Riyadh needs an experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse to take ownership of specialist care and education for patients living with diabetes. You will work with people managing Type 1, Type 2, and other forms of the condition, and help them take real control of it.

This is hands-on, patient-facing work. You will teach insulin technique, explain what a CGM reading actually means, and sit down with families to build plans they can follow at home. You will also work side by side with endocrinologists, dietitians, and pharmacists, so your input shapes each patient's care.

Diabetes is managed mostly outside the clinic. The education you give today decides whether a patient avoids complications years from now. If you have at least three years in diabetes care and you care about teaching as much as treating, this role deserves your attention.

Key Responsibilities

Specialist Patient Care

• Provide specialist nursing care and support to patients with Type 1, Type 2, and other forms of diabetes.
• Monitor each patient's progress and spot where they need further clinical intervention or education.

Patient and Family Education

• Teach patients and families about medication, insulin administration, glucose monitoring, nutrition, lifestyle changes, and preventing complications.
• Help patients build self-management plans that are practical and sustainable in their daily lives.

Diabetes Technology

• Train patients to use blood glucose meters, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and other diabetes technologies with confidence.
• Help patients read and act on their own data between appointments.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

• Coordinate care with physicians, endocrinologists, dietitians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Bring the education and self-management picture into team discussions so care plans reflect how patients actually live.

Quality and Documentation

• Apply and promote evidence-based practice in diabetes care and patient education.
• Keep accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality and patient-safety initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Current nursing registration, or eligibility for licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• At least 3 years of experience in diabetes care and management.
• Direct experience with patients who need ongoing diabetes management, not just acute episodes.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong practical knowledge of diabetes management, including insulin therapy and glucose monitoring.
• Familiarity with CGM systems and other diabetes technologies.
• Preferred: a recognized diabetes certification such as CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist), CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator), or a comparable international credential.

Leadership & Communication

• You explain complex clinical information in plain language that patients and families can act on.
• You work well inside a multidisciplinary team and speak up for your patients' needs.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Work Environment

You will be based on-site at the organization's facility in Riyadh, working within a professional multidisciplinary clinical team. Your days will mix one-to-one education sessions, patient follow-ups, and case discussions with colleagues. Clinical documentation is part of daily work, and English is the working language of the team.
