Essential Job Duties:
- Develops, organizes, and implements a training program for new hire orientation and staff development.
- Creates training tools and staff assessment materials, including, presentations, scripts, competency tests, tip sheets.
- Trains staff in utilizing systems or applications applicable to their job duties – Cerner Registration/Scheduling/PowerChart Experian eligibility Registration quality assurance work queues, Centricity payment system copays and open balances, OneSource paymentsafe system.
- Provides Insurance training – Example how to identify the insurance plans and Coordination of benefits rules, Real time eligibility, identifying errors and alerts.
- Coordinates with IT department- Systems access sign-ons and any systems issues such as eligibility not responding or if the system isn’t working as expected.
- Provides one-on-one targeted training in response to performance deficiencies.
- Works with vendors to successfully implement new enhancements and products. Such as Cerner implementation of Revenue cycle, Soarian Financials, Experian payment safe.
- Plans, coordinates, and leads monthly Patient Access meetings to provide education and system updates along with any discussions needed. (We have a Union request to resume these meetings).
- Ensures staff maintain education requirements as needed or expected of their role and remains up to date on changes.
- Reviews registrations for completion and accuracy; ensures patient demographic and insurance data, is entered correctly into system.
- Assists with Patient access questions regarding registration/scheduling and insurance via email, phone call or Helpdesk ticket.
- We also provide Ensemble education Revenue Cycle 1,2 and 3, Understanding Medicare and Tricare and VA education. Articulatemay be able to replace this education.
Education, Training & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Healthcare Administration, Education, Business, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of healthcare scheduling and registration systems. Familiarity with patient management software (e.g., EPIC, Cerner) is a plus but can be acquired through on-the-job training.
- Strong presentation and training skills; experience in instructional design or curriculum development is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting, preferably in scheduling, registration, or patient access.
- Experience in training or mentoring staff, even in an informal capacity, is preferred
