Compensation: Pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to job-specific requirements, individual experience, internal pay equity, and organizational needs/budget considerations, all in alignment with our RML's compensation philosophy. Under the direction of the Nursing Director/Manager, the Registered Nurse provides compassionate, patient-centered care in accordance with RML policies, nursing standards, and physician orders. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult and geriatric patients while ensuring continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe, individualized nursing care to assigned patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, blood products, and nutritional support while monitoring patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
- Document patient care, assessments, interventions, and changes in condition accurately in Meditech.
- Respond to emergencies, including code situations and CPR as needed.
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Supervise and guide LPNs and Patient Care Technicians as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and orientation/precepting of new staff.
- Current Illinois RN license required.
- Current CPR and ACLS certification required.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Acute care experience with medically complex patients preferred, including ventilator, wound care, rehabilitation, or critical care experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced or emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with healthcare technology and electronic medical records.
